Marie Spaulding

Marie Spaulding is a maker/entrepreneur who turned her passion for felting into a very full and colorful way of life through Living Felt – Felting Supplies and FeltingTutorials.com

Marie discovered felting around the turn of the century and thought it was a way she could turn her fantasy drawings into colorful 3D Sculptures. Her very first felted creation was a needle felted doll that she immediately named, “The Wool Merchant”. His job was to “keep her in the wool”, and that has come true in a way she never imagined.

Since that very first project, Marie fell in love with felting, wool and fiber.  Whether needle felting, wet felting or nuno felting, Marie discovered that she loves exploring processes, textures and colors in wool, silk and other fibers; but most of all, she loves sharing it with others.

Marie has appeared on HGTV, Uncommon Threads and has been published in the books Designer Needle Felting and Felt, Filz, Vilt.  She has exhibited her works in local and regional shows, however most of her fun comes from sharing felting with others who want to learn and explore their creativity through making their very own felt masterpieces…big or small, fanciful, playful or high end.

Marie appears throughout the year on Wooly Wednesday, a live show that features a variety of tutorials, tips and techniques on felting. She also teaches classes and hosts guest teachers on more involved projects through the online school, feltingtutorials.com
